It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly a year since the New Day recaptured the WWE Tag Team Championships, ending the interim reign of the Prime Time Players and kicking off an era of Booty O's, Francesca, unicorn horns and Francesca II.

New Day lost the tag titles to Darren Young and Titus O’Neil at Money in the Bank last year and PTP defended the titles at Battleground, but a fatal four-way title defense against New Day, Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores (remember those guys?) would not go their way. New Day would steal the pinfall (they were heels at the time) to capture their second title reign.

Since then, New Day has gone on to become the longest-reigning tag team champs (with this version of the titles) and become one of the most entertaining parts of WWE. Some weeks, they were the only entertaining part of Raw. They underwent a transformation from cheating villains to fan-favourites, all while keeping fans laughing.

This Sunday, their tag title reign will reach an astounding 52 weeks. Even if this is the end of their run, New Day certainly has left their mark on the tag team division, and it all started at SummerSlam 2015.
