The Police had been on hiatus for close to two years and that Sting had released his solo debut album over six months before Steve Borden started wrestling as Sting. The dude kind of stole his name, but then again, it's not like the wrestler ever tried to trade on the musician's fame in any way other than sharing his name. And to be honest, as nicknames go, "Sting" is fairly generic. So I guess they were cool with each other. No, WCW didn't play this up on TV at all, in case you're wondering.
