15 Best WWE Matches Of 2014 (So Far)

4. John Cena vs. Cesaro (Raw, Feb. 17)

John Cena has a way of delivering his finest work when paired with a former indy talent whose reputation is that of a great in-ring worker. Whether it is CM Punk or Daniel Bryan, Cena always appeared more motivated to deliver the best performance possible when competing against the most respected talents. His bout on the February 17 episode of Monday Night Raw against "Swiss Superman" Cesaro was no different. Cesaro overwhelmed Cena with his strength and athleticism throughout the bout as commentators Michael Cole, JBL and Jerry Lawler really put over the surging Swiss Superstar. Cena fought back countering the Cesaro Swing into an STF attempt. Cesaro countered that into a gut wrench suplex as the Denver crowd came alive and cheered the stellar sequence. Cena tried for the Attitude Adjustment but Cesaro launched him in the air and caught him with the uppercut as he once again proved to be one step ahead of the former WWE champion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jymC3UkMuGU Cena countered the Cesaro Swing into a DDT. Cesaro responded minutes later with the Swing but Cena shot his shoulder off the mat, saving himself from defeat. Cena delivered the Attitude Adjustment for the win as the fans inside the Pepsi Center erupted, showing respect to both competitors for a tremendously wrestled match. Just days after defeating Randy Orton in what was the biggest match of his career, Cesaro delivered in the biggest match of his career to that point, wrestling the biggest star in the industry in one of the year's best. While the win over Orton from SmackDown may look great on a resume, it was the match against Cena that stands out as the one that earned the trust and faith of management.
