6. Stone Cold Steve Austin

It can be easy to just remember Stone Cold Steve Austin as the butt-kicking Texas Rattlesnake from his late 90s heyday, but that would be selling short an adaptable and downright funny wrestler.

At the height of Stone Cold's popularity, his beer-swilling character had a sardonic streak that could definitely get a laugh. His rebellious attitude and escapades tormenting Vince McMahon provided some comedy gold, including the infamous attack on McMahon in his hospital bed.

After Austin turned heel at WrestleMania X-Seven, comedy became a hugely important part of his identity. Legendary backstage skits with another gifted comedian Kurt Angle helped fans to buy this new direction for Stone Cold.

His timing and delivery proved to be impeccable. Not many people could still be believable as a badass while singing songs backstage to Vince McMahon. It's a shame he cursed us with the 'What?' chant, though.
