1. Diesel Was Supposed To Beat The Undertaker At WrestleMania 12

WWE.comWWE.comCome on. How could we have had a WrestleMania-themed list and not had a story concerning The Undertaker at the very top? In all honesty, although King Kong Bundy had a sniff of victory against Taker (at least due to Vince being high on him), the streak was in genuine danger at WrestleMania 12. Originally, Kevin Nash (or Diesel, if you're that way inclined) was booked to win. No maybe. He was booked to win apparently. The streak was going to die there and then, with the giant figure of Nash the man who ripped it seam from seam. But fortunately for Taker, Nash made a career decision that left the streak well and truly alive. He opted to make a switch, and head for World Championship Wrestling. Naturally, that was a move that would have upset Vince McMahon a great deal, and he decided he wasn't going to let Nash leave with such a huge carrot. Therefore, the plans were abruptly changed, and Taker was given the win. There are a few points along the career path of The Undertaker where the streak could have come to an end (before it did against Brock Lesnar, of course). King Kong Bundy was one, but in all reality, had Nash opted to stay with the WWE, it'd have all been over at WrestleMania 12.
