13. John Cena Was Booked To Fight Hogan At WrestleMania 24
This one may be a little more well known than some of the other urban legends on this list, but it doesn't mean it was worthy of not making the cut. At WrestleMania 24, John Cena took on Randy Orton and Triple H in a Triple Threat match - but it could have been all so different. According to Hulk Hogan, he was in negotiations to return to the WWE for WrestleMania 24, and was close to agreeing a lengthy deal to sign on with the company. Part of that included working a program with Cena at WrestleMania 24, which would have seen two icons from differing generations go at it on the biggest stage of them all. However, Hogan claims that whilst he was in talks to return to the WWE, his back went out, and the company pulled the plug on any potential deal - and match - for Hogan and Cena. So the scripts were seemingly rewritten, and that legendary match that could have been was forever consigned to the 'what if?' archives. Shame really, as there would have been thousands, if not millions, who would have loved to have seen Hogan vs. Cena on the grandest stage of them all.
