Happy new year to the AEW side of the Wednesday Night Wars as Cody and Tony's team came JUST shy of once more hitting that million viewers mark on the first day of 2020. It might have been a victory scored over an awards show, but still, the uplift on the previous week of close to 30% isn't something to be sniffed at.
Here's to another year of progress and growth and lots more opportunities not to watch weddings in the ring.
With Wrestle Kingdom landing this weekend, there's good news from Japan too as there are hints that a working relationship between NJPW and AEW might be back on the table. Fingers crossed on that front too.
In a celebration of the past, AEW will honour the legends of Memphis Wrestling and in a look to the future, there's been more take of the artist formerly known as Luke Harper joining up with his former WWE workmates soon.
And through it all, the AEW superstars started 2020 with a bang on social media, sharing glimpses behind the curtain, advancing their brands and generally having a lovely festive old time.
