5. A Groovy Kinda Love

It was a beautiful thing. After months of tagging together, it was revealed that on-screen sweethearts Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo would be tagging together forever, when Chuck proposed to Billy, and Billy said yes. Taking place in the middle of a Smackdown ring in September 2002, the commitment ceremony (men couldn€™t properly marry men back in those days, even in a wrestling angle) was, as usual, interrupted by everyone and his monkey while the grooms and their stylist and wedding planner Rico tried to maintain order. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4mrRVBt71M Tragically, everyone€™s favourite love story was revealed to be a work within a work, as Billy and Chuck balked before going through with it, claiming that the whole thing was a publicity stunt that had gone too far. Finally, and in a swerve that no one expected, the doddering old minister was revealed to be RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff, who used the moment to have his goons Three Minute Warning attack the Smackdown crew and their own GM, Stephanie McMahon. The wedding devolved into a fiasco. I€™m not sure Rico is even over it to this day. Poor guy.
