Before he was a loveable corporate mascot socking it to the glass ceiling, Mankind was a distinctly more distressing figure. Part of what made his Hannibal Lector-esque mask so off-putting was the humanity behind the character; the stigma surrounding mental health has thankfully lifted to a point where we no longer clamp people in muzzles, but nevertheless the masked Mankind demonstrated the psychological fragility to which we're all prone.
