Carmella is one hell of a WWE heel.

You read that right, and it's true. When it comes to female characters you'd most like to see slapped down for their unparalleled arrogance, Mella is at the top of the list right now. The main problem WWE has is that her ring skills aren't quite on par with the likes of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch or Asuka.

Speaking of the latter, she was revealed as the new number one contender for Carmella's SmackDown Women's Title on this week's show. Those who have been paying full attention since the Superstar Shakeup might take umbrage with that though, because it doesn't exactly make sense in storyline.

Elsewhere on SmackDown, there were hilarious fan signs that channeled the spirit of Eric Bischoff circa 1998, yet more pancake tomfoolery with The New Day, hokey WWE comedy that even someone phenomenal couldn't get over and the usual mix of hidden nuances and easter eggs.

Also, someone was surely ribbing Cesaro. It's unlike him to slip all over the place like his boots have been greased up backstage...
