16. What Was The Worst Thing He Witnessed JBL Do?
It's no secret that John Bradshaw Layfield has a reputation as a bully, and he's back in the news due to his problems with SmackDown announcer Mauro Ranallo - as well as revelations from Roberts' new book. Mauro, who has been MIA on Tuesday nights for several weeks now is admittedly in the midst of a battle with bi-polar depression, which the wrestling media has attributed to the hazing he's experienced at the hands of JBL.
When asked about the worst of JBL's behavior that he personally witnessed, Roberts replied that his former colleague used to terrorize other members of staff. He admitted that the stories are making headlines now due to the release of his book, but that the incidents were at their height during around 2003-04.
Justin said JBL made life hell for himself and a lot of other guys, such as chewing The Miz and John Morrison out for "not celebrating enough" when they won the tag team titles. JBL was eventually let go, and when came back to a reduced schedule he was on much better behavior, but even now Roberts said it comes across on TV in the way he talks to Byron Saxton and Ranallo.
