With WWE last night running a live event at Charlotte, North Carolina's Spectrum Center, that show had two major absences in the shape of SmackDown Women's Champion Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks.

As first reported by PWUnlimited's Tim Jarrell and then PWInsider, Belair and Banks missed this WWE Supershow due to, as the Charlotte crowd were informed, "unforeseen circumstances".

No further details have been made public as to why the EST and the Boss were absent from this live event, but WWE will obviously be hoping that the two will be back in action as soon as possible, with the two due to clash for Belair's SmackDown Women's Championship at next weekend's SummerSlam PPV.

Given how phenomenal a match Belair and Banks put on at WrestleMania 37 - where Bianca defeated Sasha for the aforementioned SmackDown Women's Title - anticipation is high for something special at SummerSlam next Saturday. Here's hoping that whatever stopped both competitors from appearing in North Carolina is only a temporary issue.

SummerSlam 2021 takes place from Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium - with WWE looking to make the show feel as big as WrestleMania.
