Japanese promotions Pro Wrestling NOAH and DDT will merge on 1 September, as confirmed by parent company CyberAgent during a Tokyo press conference earlier today.

NOAH and DDT will come together as CyberFight on 1 September. Per company officials, this is being done to "fortify the business/economic foundation of the company" and may be driven by the ongoing global health crisis. It was stated that that the two promotions shall be operated as "business divisions" within CyberFight, with president Sanshiro Takagi stating that the respective in-ring products won't be affected, adding the he hopes to increase behind-the-scenes efficiency following the merger.

Takagi is joined on the CyberFight management team by NOAH's Naomichi Marufuji and Akito of DDT, who will serve as Executive Vice Presidents. The group aims to run a show in the Tokyo Dome someday.

CyberAgent has owned DDT since 2017, keeping Takagi employed in the president's role he had occupied since 2005, while NOAH was bought by the group in January 2020. This brought a number of changes including DDT management taking over NOAH's operations and the Mitsuharu Misawa-formed company's shows appearing on the DDT Wrestle Universe streaming platform.
