2 Ups & 1 Down From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Nov 22)
Happy Thanksgiving. Now go put on a turkey suit.
It's the week of Thanksgiving in America, meaning it was the return of one of Impact's worst gimmick matches they've ever had - the Turkey Suit Match. Seriously, who let this idea escape the creative room with the green light?
The entire episode this week focused on that match, and that match alone. Segment after segment, we saw the two opposing team captains (Eli Drake on one side, KM and Fallah Bahh on the other) choosing their team members. Apparently, they couldn't just do that in one segment and have it over and done with like that. It just made the entire night a hassle to get through.
2018 has been a rather successful year for Impact Wrestling. Nights like this, however, remind people what the company used to be like before the new year - pointless storytelling and subpar in-ring action. They're a changed promotion now, almost like an entirely new company has cropped up on the indies. We can only hope that this evening will be forgotten - at least until next Thanksgiving.
Aside from the one match, there were two quite enjoyable vignettes that aired regarding Homecoming on 6 January. As evidenced by these videos, it's not always the wrestling itself that makes a show good. Let's get to it...
