Could a larger belt suggest a title change is on the horizon?

With the Intercontinental Championship getting a fresh new design last November, it looks as if certain other WWE titles are about to get a fresh lick of paint.

Via WrestlingINC, plans are afoot to redesign several of the championship belts competed for under the WWE umbrella.

This latest report indicates that two titles are definitely getting new designs, with there also obviously being the possibility that other pieces of championship gold may follow suit.

The two titles in the frame to get redone, are the NXT Championship held by Adam Cole, and the United States Championship currently held by Apollo Crews. While there’s no word on what changes await Crews’ US Title, the NXT Championship will reportedly have the same design, just be larger in size.

Could a bigger version of the NXT Championship indicate that a larger performer is due to win that belt soon *cough* Karrion Kross *cough*, we’ll have to wait and see.

Of course, just last night we saw Adam Cole successfully defend said NXT Championship against the Velveteen Dream in a backlot brawl battle that has received mixed reviews. As for the United States Championship, Apollo Crews took that title from Andrade last month during an episode of Monday Night Raw.
