20 Best Wrestling Moments That Ever Happened In May
May 27th, 1996... the day WCW changed everything.
Throughout the history of the industry, many memorable moments have taken place under the banner of professional wrestling in the month of May. Sadly, some of these incidents haven't always been memorable for the right reasons, such as the tragic passing of one Owen Hart. During the then-WWF's Over The Edge 1999 Pay-Per-View, the youngest wrestling Hart sibling fell to his death from the rafters of the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri, in what was a truly dark day for the business as a whole.
On a much more cheerful note, May has generally been kind to pro wrestling. April has often been dominated by WWF/WWE's annual tradition, WrestleMania, but when the calendar turns to May, there has been much more scope for other promotions to take to the spotlight.
This article takes into account promotions as varied as the AWA, World Class Championship Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling, TNA, ECW, WCW and of course the WWF/WWE. There's a lot of history entrenched in all of those companies, and they have all presented memorable moments in the month of May.
The month has given birth to the likes of Andre The Giant, Daniel Bryan, Jake Roberts and even Eric Bischoff, but these 20 moments equally deserve every wrestling fan's full attention.
