View this post on Instagram I don’t usually do this. I met Eddie for the first and only time in early 2005. I was lucky to have maybe 3 years under my belt. He was sitting alone in the stands and seemed preoccupied in thought but I couldn’t pass up a chance to say hello to the incredible Eddie Guerrero one on one! I introduced myself and extended my hand.... He looked up and he immediately smiled, came out of his seat and introduced himself as well. I was floored. I figured I was going to get the whole “no eye contact” half handshake countless others had given me so many times before. Not Eddie. Eddie didn’t know who I was. I knew who he was. Eddie was on the WWE roster. I was an extra. Eddie was a mega star. I was basically a ghost. He treated me like I had worked there for years. He smiled at me like we hadn’t seen each other in months and he was eager to catch up. In one brief meeting he taught me a valuable lesson I carry with me to this day. Maya Angelou said “people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did but people will never forget how you made them feel” Well, I still smile and laugh at the entertainment you’ve given me. My eyes still tear up with highlights of your accomplishments that will without question, live on long after I have passed. And as for how you made a 24 year old kid feel.....?
