NXT is WWE’s destination for the majority of their incoming performers. Here, they find themselves and become accustomed to the WWE way.

For many, it is vastly different to where they came from. There are the evident advantages of TV time, enhanced exposure, and the chance to work under NXT’s rollcall of legendary trainers, yet this also comes with the pressure of anything you do while under the umbrella of WWE’s black and yellow brand being on tape. Nothing gifts a moment’s potential to haunt you more than it being committed to film.

This has resulted in NXT superstars being well guarded from in-ring and creative blunders, which particularly impacts on the amount of bizarre, weird, and borderline obscene aliases used by the wrestlers. Those who have come up through the Performance Center have something of a protection blanketfrom regrettable aliases. Those who had to work their way towards NXT through years of hard slog are not quite so lucky.

While these 20 superstars have some weird nom de plumes, they will have something to look back on to laugh when they are industry icons and Hall of Famers, like Edge with Sexton Hardcastle.

Let's run through them...
