23 WTF Moments From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Sept 20)
John Cena hadn’t lost a non-PPV singles match on WWE television since October 2009...
This week's SmackDown Live looked like being a bit of a Bobby Dazzler following on from the upturn in fortunes for Monday Night RAW.
You would have been forgiven for thinking this episode was a blue brand pay per view event, rather than a run of the mill weekly show.
Two huge matches, worthy of potentially main eventing any SmackDown WWE Network special were booked, which in turn leads me to giving you your first WTF Moment from this week's show in this intro - I don't think that has ever happened before.
The first huge match would see The Miz defend his Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler. The Awesome One will not be moving to RAW on a full time basis after teasing a big switch on Twitter over the last few days. Daniel Bryan has sorted out an improved SmackDown Live contract for his IC Champion, as fans of the blue brand breathe a sigh of relief.
Alongside that big secondary title match, we had the small deal that was Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena to contend with. Any SmackDown Live exclusive event, that's a main event no matter the card. How lucky are we?
Those two matches on a bog standard episode of SmackDown Live with the next pay per view two weeks away... WTF!
Here are all of the WTF Moments from this week's SmackDown Live.
18. It's John O'Clock Motherf*****s!
This week's WTF Moments article for SmackDown Live is an article of firsts. After giving you the first WTF Moment in the intro to this piece for the first time in WTF Moment article history - please click back if you missed it - you have your run down of the John O'Clock moments from this week's show after the first click of your mouse.
Premature John O'Clock! It's the best type of John O'Clock, believe me. Here we go:
The first John O'Clock moment arrived when said that Becky Lynch was the number one draft pick for SmackDown Live. Yes, we're getting off on a pernickety foot here.
Come on now... John blocked me on Twitter without direct provocation, what do you expect?
Of course, we all know that Dean Ambrose was SmackDown Live's first overall draft pick, while Becky Lynch was the first female selection.
Details, John. Details.
The second John O'Clock moment arrived when John claimed that Jason Jordan was in the midst of a Gilligan's Island situation because he was all alone after the injury to Chad Gable's knee.
Does John not know that there was more than just Gilligan on that island? You had the Captain, the millionaire, the millionaire's wife... LOADS OF PEOPLE!
I know this and I wasn't even alive when it was on television!
Then, we have the moment when JBL said yet another WWE Championship's name incorrectly, which means that moments like this will no longer be appearing in these articles. He does it far too often now that it can't be considered a WTF Moment any longer.
When he finally calls the WWE SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships by their proper title though, instead of calling them the Tag Team SmackDown titles... I'll be in there like swimwear!
John then claimed that the reason Baron Corbin is called The Lone Wolf is because he beats up people... not because he doesn't like people and is a bit of a loner that believes he doesn't need the help of others the reach the top of the WWE mountain.
Did John not watch those WWE NXT 24 specials on the Network way back when?
"Eccentric? He doesn't have a lick of sense!"
John, just because two words sound similar doesn't mean they mean the same thing... stupid idiot!
Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, cinco, seis! Five John O'Clock moments on this week's show!
lovely.
