The week after SummerSlam should be about WWE celebrating their biggest PPV of the season, so it is with no great surprise that this week's news has been mostly focused on... checks note... people wanting out of their WWE contracts. Good.
As the company looks to sign more indie talent to the roster - bolstered this week by a new intake of signings for the Performance Centre led by EVOLVE's Austin Theory and Santana Garrett - there's been talk of Vince McMahon refusing to allow Dolph Ziggler his employment freedom. Then there's the Nia Jax situation. She deleted her Twitter and removed WWE from her Instagram bio (SEE, WRESTLING SOCIAL MEDIA IS IMPORTANT!!) and set tongues flapping. Which is also what Rusev did with his new face fashion choices inspiring speculation too.
On top of that, Rey Mysterio has been linked with an exit towards AEW (if he's not booked better, so possibly best to say your goodbyes now). Don't worry though, because there's probably another Brock Lesnar title run coming and Goldberg admits his match with The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia was... less than great.
And through it all, as the dust from SummerSlam settled, the superstars of past and present took to social media to delete mentions of their employers, show off their sunbathing poses and tease new moustaches. This was the week in WWE Instagram...
