Thankfully, NXT was soon there to remind WWE fans that not every show will leave you questioning your love for the world of professional wrestling as Dakota Kai defeated Rhea Ripley to earn an NXT Women's Championship shot against Io Shirai at Takeover: XXX. Also, Pat McAfee used Adam Cole's head as a football and it was later announced that the pair will compete in a match at the thirtieth Takeover event.
Finally, SmackDown ended this week of action on a rather conflicting note. On the one hand, you had Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville beating the crap out of each other, which is always guaranteed to put smiles on faces (also, Rose is now 'God's Greatest Soccer Mom' because of an unexpected haircut). Yet on the other, you had the lacklustre first real appearance of Retribution - the aforementioned tinkerers-turned-terrible-spray-paint-artists.
Though the television product may be growing stranger by the week, at least Instagram still consistently delivers the goods.
Hell, Tyson Kidd stepped back into a ring this week. All is not lost just yet!
