View this post on Instagram Carver’s Labor and Delivery Carver’s birth was much different. Because this was my second labor I trusted the nurses and the Doctor. Dr Muraskas and the same nurses delivered both babies. With laughter and a bit of pushing both babies are healthy and happy. With Carver, I understood the process and the recovery in the hospital. I didn’t have such a detailed birth plan. I got the epidural at a 6/7 pain level not a 10. The epidural didn’t work all the way at first and they had to adjust it. So, after the adjustment I was in a lot less pain and was actually able to enjoy the labor. I got to really see my husband and his excitement. I was more present in the moment. 4 or 5 pushes and Carver was out. He is beautiful. They said he looked like a c-section baby because he had great color and a round head. Mike delivered him and placed him on my chest for skin to skin. Instantly I felt relief, awe, and amazement. And then of course came the shaking. Which lasted longer but I was ready for it. Because I was shaking so much I handed Carver to Mike and I watched him fall in love with this new tiny human we created. I didn’t even try breastfeeding which I think is the best decision for Carver and me. My hospital stay was much shorter. I was out the next day and I was excited to go home. Mike didn’t have to go on the road for 10 days so I was happy to have my entire little family together to nest and snuggle. @therealmichaelbennett @carvermarsbennett A post shared by Maria Kanellis-Bennett (@mariakanellis) on Feb 22, 2020 at 7:20pm PST
