View this post on Instagram It’s easy to be selfless when you’re comfortable. When things aren’t going your way, when you’re in trouble, and you still put others before yourself. That’s real hero s**t. That’s what Shad did in his final moments. He was in trouble and he put his son before himself. Not surprising at all. In all the years I knew Shad Gaspard I can’t think of a time when he wasn’t smiling. Plenty of times things didn’t go the way he wanted- but that didn’t change the positive energy he put out into the world. Sometimes it felt like he’d unlocked the secret to happiness. It felt like he loved his family and friends so much that being around them made anything negative fade away. If you were friends with Shad that meant he was going yell at you from across the gym, or restaurant, or anywhere to say what up- he didn’t care if we were supposed to be quiet on a movie set, or if I was eating a fancy dinner at Fogo De Chao- He was going run over & meet whoever I was with, introduce everyone to everyone and then make everyone laugh. That was Shad every time I saw him. He almost always had a new incredible story. I’m going to miss dreaming, and laughing, and experiencing life with you bro. RIP ‘The Beast’ Shad Gaspard A post shared by John Hennigan (@johnhennigan) on May 20, 2020 at 4:16pm PDT
