26 Times Wrestling Titles Have Been Disrespected

1. The Finger Poke Of Doom

The number 1 spot on this list was a tricky one to pin down, but when all is said and done, it had to go to the dreaded finger poke of doom.

Having feuded for 9 months, nWo Wolfpac's Kevin Nash defended the WCW Championship against his then bitter rival, nWo Hollywood's Hollywood Hogan, on a 1999 episode of Nitro.

After a huge build up and a super hot crowd, when the match got underway it lasted literally a matter of seconds. Hogan would poke Nash in the chest, with Big Sexy dramatically dropping to the mat and getting pinned by Hogan.

The fans in attendance were left disgusted, as were those watching on TV, not to mention other wrestlers and pretty much any and everyone involved in the industry.

As it happened, the finger poke of doom happened on the very same Nitro that saw Tony Schiavone reveal that Mick Foley would be winning the WWF Title. A plethora of fans would change the channel and WCW would lose 600,000 viewers to the WWF as the pendulum of the Monday Night Wars swung in Vince McMahon's favour in what is deemed as the first nail in the coffin of WCW's coffin.
