3 Big Names To Watch From Every XFL Team
7. Houston Roughnecks
Head Coach: June Jones
Jones has ties to Houston with stops as an assistant for the USFL's Houston Gamblers and the former Houston Oilers. He would spend six seasons in Atlanta, as the Falcon's offensive coordinator then head coach.
Jones is most famous for his tenure as the University of Hawaii's head coach from '99-'07. He coached Timmy Chang and Colt Brennen to each break the record for the NCAA All-time leaders in passing yards. He led the Warriors to an undefeated season before resigning to take the head coaching gig at SMU.
Quarterback: Connor Cook
A three year starter at Michigan State, Cook was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft. He made his first NFL start in the playoffs that season, due to injury. Spending one more season in Oakland, he bounced around to the Panthers, Bengals, and Lions before getting drafted into the XFL. He's battling former Temple QB, PJ Walker, for the starting job.
Defensive End: Kony Ealy
Leaving the University of Missouri early, Ealy was taken in the 2nd round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Carolina Panthers. He played five seasons in the NFL with the Panthers, Jets, and Raiders, but his best game was arguably Superbowl 50, when he became the only player to record an interception and multiple sacks.
