3 Ups & 3 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Jan 11)

Homecoming was witness to a match between Sami Callihan and Willie Mack, a bout that didn't have that much momentum behind it. A good match overall, but a pointless one nonetheless. The rematch on this week's Impact just made it come across as even more irrelevant.

The only thing that was accomplished from this second match was the victory going to Willie this time, meaning the pair are tied. A third match would make sense to determine an overall victor, but there's no real benefit to it. Although you won't be getting a bad match out of them, it prevents either from moving forward to other rivalries, such as ones for both the World and X Division Championships.

In reality, it would make more sense for Rich Swann to be involved in a more major way, seeing as he's the one who Callihan wants to have in oVe. Swann saying no to becoming a member and then Mack getting involved in the matter makes it appear that the latter is desperate to keep Rich as a friend.

Who knows, maybe it's a ploy from Willie to get that little bit closer to the champ so he'll be handed championship opportunities.
