3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 9)

Ups...

3. Benefit Of The Doubt

Trent Seven AEW
AEW

Sure, former WWE NXT UK man Trent Seven is just the latest in a never-ending procession of AEW debuts that are handed out without warning, but he did work as a surprise rival for Orange Cassidy. It made sense that Kip Sabian would choose a fellow Brit/somebody he knows fairly well too.

Yours truly is willing to give All Elite the benefit of the doubt on this one if they actually follow up with Trent. Dustin Rhodes running out to help Cassidy fend off Seven and Sabian teases a coming tag match, and that would be a neat spot for Seven. He'd get a kick out of working with Goldust in-ring too, probably.

Fingers crossed on that one.

Trent's debut gets pass marks for the Kip ties and because Seven vs. Orange turned out to be a fun little match. It wasn't quite as good as Rampage's opener, but few bouts could've topped that. Overall, Seven will be pleased with his intro here.
