3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jan 29)
3. Braun Strowman On SmackDown?
The WWE Draft happened literally three months ago. Back then, in October, company announcers told fans that each trade would shake the foundations of the entire set up on Raw and SmackDown. Rather predictably, they didn't, and Braun Strowman's return on Friday night proves it.
He's a Raw star.
Michael Cole and Corey Graves could only play pretend and act shocked that Braun had showed up on a rival show. Why? AJ Styles had literally just explained that wrestlers can jump ship "quarterly" on the same episode, and The Miz and John Morrison were there too. So, Strowman was free to do as he pleased, right? Well, hold the phone.
Adam Pearce was the guy who handed Braun an "indefinite suspension" back in November on Raw. He's also the lead authority figure on SmackDown, so this should have consequences. It won't though, 'cause WWE needed an easy sell for the chaos of the Royal Rumble.
None of this makes sense.
