In a surprise, but probably canny, decision, The Vaudevillains upset Enzo and Cass to become the #1 Contenders for Blake and Murphy's NXT Tag Team Championships.

Their victory was somewhat muted by the fact that the fans didn't really know whether to cheer or boo the two chivalrous gents. After all, they didn't cheat to win, their gimmick is funny and they've worked hard in NXT. Yet throughout the match, their attitude and a few heelish moves painted them as a team that the fans shouldn't root for. It's confusing, and hopefully it'll be cleared up in their program with the champs.

Fans of the So Sawft Crew may be frustrated now, but their time will come, likely in Brooklyn for the pre-Summerslam TakeOver show, where their characters will be whole-hearted embraced by the New York crowd. Until then, it's nice to see Gotch and English get their shot at the belts and, hopefully, their upcoming rivalry can bring something new out of Vanilla Blake and Ho-Hum Murphy, elevating the titles in time for Cass and Enzo's victory lap.
