You probably haven't seen the last of this former NXT UK worker in WWE.

Released ex-WWE star Xia Brookside has revealed she "knows deep down in [her] heart that the door is still open" for a return someday.

Brookside, who was signed to a contract when she was just 19 years old, was cut loose in August - her release coincided with WWE announcing that the NXT UK brand would be reimagined as NXT Europe in the near future.

The news came as a bit of a nasty shock to Xia too. She told Busted Open Radio that she's planning a wedding, and the last thing she needed was some financial insecurity on top of that. Still, Brookside was immensely grateful for all the "love and support" she received via text and on social media from peers and fans alike.

That helped her refocus, and it made her realise that she's still only 24 years of age. Xia still has a lot to offer pro wrestling, and she knows she'll likely be back in WWE again someday too. That seems to be a given, especially when NXT Europe launches properly.

WWE might also fancy sticking Brookside on the "full" NXT brand, or giving her a crack on Raw/SmackDown.
