"No Buzz" Around Returning WWE Star Ahead Of Money In The Bank 2023

The long-running saga of one of WWE's missing stars rumbles on.

The potential of a Drew McIntyre comeback at WWE Money in the Bank 2023 has been thrown into doubt following a new report from PWInsider.

Via the site's Elite service, Mike Johnson states that although WWE had wanted to bring the Scot back for Saturday's premium live event, nothing has been settled upon. There is currently no internal buzz about the former WWE Champion coming back at MITB, with the return far from a lock.

Money in the Bank 2023 takes place in London, England on Saturday, 1 July, airing from the O2 Arena. This will be WWE's first premium live event in the United Kingdom since September 2022's Clash at the Castle, where McIntyre fought Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the main event.

Drew has been off television since WrestleMania 39, where he met Sheamus and Gunther in an acclaimed Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat. Since then, McIntyre's WWE activity has been restricted to ambassadorial duties.

The 38-year-old's wrestling future is currently up in the air. McIntyre's WWE contract is understood to expire sometime in early 2024, with the Scot reportedly open to exploring other opportunities should he not reach a new agreement with the market leaders.
