22. India: The Great Khali

Great Khali World Title

Birthplace: Dhiraina, Himachal Pradesh, India

One train of thought would class somebody like Tiger Jeet Singh as the greatest wrestler to emanate from India. Singh was decent in the ring and carried a sword to the ring. And we all know that swords make everything better.

Sadly, that logic is out of the window here, for the truly awful-in-the-ring Khali has to be classed as India greatest grappler down to his time as a main event performer in the WWE.

As well as winning the World Heavyweight Champion, Khali defeated huge names like The Undertaker, Kane, Rey Mysterio and Shawn Michaels during his 7-year run with Vince McMahon’s sports entertainment juggernaut. Sad but true.
