4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Feb 25)

Joey Janela and Kip Sabian settle their beef in a wild Falls Count Anywhere match.

Its days as a Dynamite hype piece seemingly as dead as our hopes for another awesome From Undesirable to Undeniable segment, AEW Dark came through with a wrestling-heavy show last night, and boy, was this lineup designed to infuriate the Jim Cornettes of the world.

Why? For one, Joey Janela featured in one of the night's most prominent bouts, blowing off his feud with Kip Sabian in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Marko Stunt collided with Jimmy Havoc in the show's opener, a new Nightmare Collective was teased, and The Dark Order featured in the main event. That list of names alone should be enough to send shivers down any traditionalist's spine, though a quick glance at the title should tell you this was a good show.

Look, it's Dark. This show is for the hardcores. It's never great from start to finish but some weeks are more watchable and effective than others. This was one of them, and yes, these are technically just jumped-up dark matches, but AEW is packing them up and presenting them to the world. They are worthy of critique.

Let's light the fuse once again...
