NXT UK Prelude is only one week old. The follow-up episode to that mammoth NXT UK episode was, sadly, not up to scratch.

The brand continues to find itself in this slump of producing somewhat quality contests while failing to find that balance to maintain a genuinely outstanding episode. Take last night's episode, for example; a decent match between Saxon Huxley and Nathan Frazer was ruined only because it followed the same formula of a typical Nathan Frazer encounter.

Additionally, the match between Ashton Smith and Jack Starz was a fine bout for what it was, but when you put it into the context of the current landscape and the incoming story arcs, it gained a Down. Reasons for this will be revealed later in the article.

Elsewhere on the episode, former tag partners faced off in the main event as Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan had a stellar match together, Eddie Dennis and The Hunt confronted Gallus on Noam Dar's Supernova Sessions to set up next week's showdown between Dennis and Joe Coffey, and Isla Dawn battled Emilia McKenzie in an alright women's division contest.

Things need to improve going forward to ensure NXT UK gets out of the pit it's currently dug deep into. Let's get to it...
