4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 28)

Ups....

4. Quickfire Promos

Tay Melo Sammy Guevara
AEW

Most wrestlers like to think they can stroll out into the ring and command a crowd's attention for 10-15 minutes as they wax lyrical about opponents. The truth? Most can't, so it's nice to see Tony Khan lace Rampage with shorter, to-the-point promo inserts that get the job done.

Several of them were really well produced.

The Outcasts cut a sneering speech about Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter, then Saraya found time to hype her upcoming Dynamite bout vs. Willow Nightingale. Throughout, the heels seemed like they had good chemistry together, and everybody had something impactful to say.

Tay Melo reading the riot act on Sammy Guevara for trusting MJF was expertly-handled too. This didn't come across as a rehearsed wrestling promo - it was more a concerned lover warning her man that he's playing with fire by trusting a scumbag like the champ.
