4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (May 13)

2. Swerve (For Swerve’s Sake)

Scorpio Sky Ethan Page
AEW

Recently, human light switch Scorpio Sky started talking about the need for AEW's TNT Title to become prestigious. The only way to do that, in Scorp's mind, was to cut the bullsh*t shenanigans involving Dan Lambert and Ethan Page, and start defending the title with distinction.

Yeah, so much for that.

Listen, it's fine for Sky to lure babyfaces into a false sense of security, but All Elite burned through a six-week story in one segment on this week's Rampage. One minute, Scorpio was telling Lambert and Page to stay backstage for his match with old SCU pal Kazarian. The next, he was hitting Frankie with the belt.

This genuinely came across as one of pro wrestling's beloved swerves for the sake of it, and that's not a trap AEW should willingly fall into. There was way more mileage to Sky attempting to do the right thing in spite of his Men Of The Year buddies.
