4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 23)
4. The Most Contrived Finish
There aren't many worse wrestling finishes than somebody getting disqualified for kicking too much *ss, but it's worse when said *ss-kicker doesn't look vicious or intimidating at all when administering his beatdown.
This was the case with Jinder Mahal vs. Mansoor. Mahal's work is too mundane to get him over in his role. He lacks intensity and brutality and still moves around the ring like a man stuffed with too much cheap pizza. When he was disqualified for failing to adhere to the five-count, he didn't look threatening at all.
Even dafter were the announcers, who spoke of Mahal regaining momentum after losing to Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam. Lads, he lost on Raw. What are you talking about?
Mansoor wanted to do things "the right way" and ignoring Mustafa Ali's advice gives the tandem something to work on for next week, at least. It's good, too, that they finally appear to be free of T-Bar and Mace. Feuding with Jinder and co. won't propel them up the card, though.
