5 AEW Wrestlers Who Could Jump Ship To WWE

Many have jumped from WWE to AEW, but who may jump in the other direction?

Brian Cage WWE
WWE/IMPACT Wrestling

Not everyone will be a right fit for All Elite Wrestling.

We know this to be true because Angelico and Jack Evans, two veterans of the indie scene and mesmerising athletes, have struggled to get going in the Tony Khan-helmed promotion. They're yet to have that big, breakout performance, but realistically, it'll likely never come their way. They're better off playing fodder to Matt Hardy's rivals.

The list is actually quite extensive. AEW traditionally excels at moulding their roster to fit the product they've created, with Darby Allin, a proven TNT Champion ratings draw, being a prime example. What about Mel and Awesome Kong, though? They failed to ever get anywhere, held back through association to the miserable Nightmare Collective faction. Sadie Gibbs, once highly-touted as a future mainstream star due to her GIFable flips making waves on social media, made just a handful of appearances for the promotion, eventually being cut from the roster entirely and subsequently retiring. Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela have both likely gotten as far as they'll reach in AEW, unless something drastically changes.

They will never be headed in WWE's direction, though.

These names could...

5. Brian Cage

Brian Cage WWE
AEW

Brian Cage is either sensational at working an online audience, or he's eager to leave All Elite Wrestling unless his booking changes.

Most recently, the former IMPACT star has been feuding against his ex-Team Taz teammates, with his dropping of the FTW Title to Ricky Starks being the peak of the story arc. It struggled to reach any momentum, sadly, with Cage's most recent in-ring activity coming vs. Powerhouse Hobbs on the 1 September Dynamite broadcast. Team Taz, sans Brian Cage, are now busy opposite CM Punk, who'll face Hobbs on this week's Rampage, Cage just missing out on being involved in Punk's second AEW storyline.

Alongside wife Melissa Santos, the ex-IMPACT World Champion has vented his frustrations with AEW's handling of him - or, rather, their mishandling - indicating that a departure from All Elite Wrestling isn't off the table.

Even without these social media comments, though, Brian Cage is a perfect fit for WWE, particularly in the newly-revamped NXT 2.0. He's essentially Cesaro with body mass. Vince McMahon will easily take one look at the guy and sign him to a contract. Dodgy booking aside, it's a wonder why Brian Cage hasn't yet been signed to the 'E.
