5 Amazing Chris Jericho Matches Outside WWE

3. Vs. Juventud Guerrera (SuperBrawl VIII)

Chris Jericho - or someone pretending to be Chris Jericho, anyway - actually cited Juventud Guerrera as his favourite wrestler to work with in WCW. Considering that the likes of Benoit, Malenko, Eddie, and Rey were among those Y2J met inside Ted Turner's ring, that's pretty high praise.

And it shows too: this match - though relatively short at just 13 minutes and change - is a thrilling exhibition of break-neck speed cruiserweight action, the type of which helped put little guys on the map at a time when their beefcake counterparts monopolised the main event.

But there's also a great story. As well as Jericho's Cruiserweight Title, Juventud's mask was on the line, making this the tale of the cocky champion who believes he is too good for the division, and the plucky underdog whose way of wrestling life is under threat.

In wrestling, of course, there are seldom happy endings - and Juventud's high-risk style ultimately proved to be his undoing when he went up for a hurricanrana and ended up caught in the Walls of Jericho. A brilliant finish to a brilliant match.
