5 Biggest Winners & Losers From WWE In 2024

4. Winner: Damian Priest

Damian Priest started off 2024 already with riches in his hands as Señor Money in the Bank and one-half of the semi-unified Raw and SmackDown tag team champions alongside Finn Balor.

While WrestleMania XL would see him lose those titles, that loss was quickly brushed aside for trading in that Money in the Bank briefcase for the World Heavyweight Championship at the start of WrestleMania Sunday. In one fell swoop, Priest went from a tag team champion and upper-midcarder to a world champion who had one of the most effective and interesting cash-ins to date.

This not only broke a curse that had been plaguing Money in the Bank winners for several years of failures, but allowed him to walk out of the biggest event of the year at the start of a new era as the top champion on the flagship show Monday Night Raw. Talk about impressive.

Priest had an enviable run with the belt, lasting all the way until the midway checkpoint of the year at SummerSlam, where he lost to one of the most dominant wrestlers of the past decade, and only because of interference. He still remains a top guy who will hopefully continue to stay in the upper echelon for quite some time.
