5 Most Sympathetic Babyfaces In AEW
2. Cody
Cody is a man who repeatedly bet on himself and won. We shouldn’t feel sympathy for him, we should live vicariously through him as he makes the bold choices we wish we could make and then reaps the rewards.
Some in his shoes might be tempted to rest on their laurels but it’s been made clear by AEW, via slick video package, just how much winning the AEW title means to him.
He may be the most over star in the company but until he wins the top title he won’t have shown himself worthy of the chances he believed were denied to him elsewhere. After all, if he can’t get the job done now, maybe WWE were right about him all along?
He’s already been betrayed by Shawn Spears, had to fight his own brother, then show his vulnerability by asking for that brother’s help against The Young Bucks. By going up against Jericho, he’s drawn Dustin into the Inner Circle’s firing line but “The American Nightmare’s” motivation is clear.
He still has so much to prove to himself and the world and he’s backing himself again to do it.
