4. Ric Flair Kissing Becky Lynch
Speaking of a mess, the soon-to-be 67 year-old Ric Flair laid a kiss on the 28 year-old Becky Lynch during the middle of the Divas Championship match. WWE is often over-criticized for acts that may be seen as politically incorrect since playing on those topics is what professional wrestling does best and is part of the reason sports-entertainment has heels that fans are supposed to genuinely dislike. With that said, WWE has clearly gone the way of avoiding all things not deemed PC by society in 2016, so then why is male-on-female sexual assault permitted? Entertainment, including movies and other scripted shows, has all sorts of villains including murderers, rapists, thieves, bullies, criminals, violent individuals, etc. The fact is that heels do dastardly things, but the inconsistency in WWE is what is the problem here. WWE often works with blinders on, or at least in very narrow-minded ways and they clearly didnt see enough wrong with booking that spot where Flair kissed Becky against her will. How can this company still be so obtuse to let something like this through when, in a previous example, Daniel Bryan lost his job for mimicking violence on a show that mimics violence? Whether the company decides to lighten up a bit or keep the screws tightened with an overabundance of political correctness, they must be consistent; one man shouldnt be deciding who shouldnt get offended by what in 2016.
