WWE have backed themselves into a corner yet again...

Who could have imagined at the start of 2017 that Jinder Mahal would be readying himself for a 'Champion vs. Champion' match against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series? When Lesnar was being squashed by Bill Goldberg last year, Jinder wasn't even on the card. He could be found trading wins and losses with Darren Young on Main Event and Superstars instead.

The past 12 months have been dizzying in that regard, because previous no-hoper Mahal has become WWE Champ and the company now expect fans to view him as a threat to Lesnar. That's not going to happen, guys, and it's not just because Jinder came out of nowhere to bag the title earlier this year. No, WWE have booked themselves into a corner once again.

If Lesnar wins, what does that mean for Jinder's immediate future? If Mahal pulls an unlikely upset and wins himself, Brock will surely be left looking like a loser. There's no out unless WWE get creative, and the most likely scenario seems to be a non-finish.

Should that happen, then it's the fans who won't feel like winners...
