5 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Royal Rumble 2022
3. Big E Deserves So Much Better
If you tuned into WWE for the first time since SummerSlam, you probably wouldn’t believe that Big E was WWE Champion less than a month ago.
E put Raw on his back the last couple of months and was rewarded with a last-minute decision to beat him for his title at Day 1 with a card change the day of the “premium live event.” Then he lost a #1 contender’s match and then match to Seth Rollins before being shuttled back to SmackDown.
Fans tried to soothe themselves by saying that this all was setting him up for a big run in the Royal Rumble, possibly vaulting him back into the main event scene.
NOPE. Big E entered at #26, eliminated no one, did nothing of note and was tossed by RK-Bro unceremoniously, so he wasn’t even around when Brock Lesnar entered the Rumble. For the record, Bad Bunny eliminated two men, and Shane McMahon tossed one.
A rapper and the 52-year-old son of the boss had better Rumbles than former WWE Champion Big E. But hey, let’s play it out and see where it goes…
