5 Ups & 2 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Mar 8)

Excellent wrestling AND decent storyline development. No, seriously.

It was a weird episode of Impact this week. There was a reference to Cody and The Young Bucks, there was a new name coming into the X Division (a division that already has enough talent as it is), and we were treated to yet another classic from The Lucha Bros, this time against The Rascalz.

With it being International Women's Day on the day of this particular episode, you'd think Impact would do anything other than have derogatory terms being used towards a female athlete. Alas, that wasn't the case.

Glenn Gilbertti (the former Disco Inferno) made some sexist comments towards Scarlett Bordeaux. While Scarlett's gimmick is a throwback to WWE's dark 'Divas' era, Impact's booking team could've at least had this occur on a different episode. Certainly this was not the day to air something like this. Thankfully, Scarlett put Glenn in his place though, and it looks as if we're heading to a match between the pair. Such fun.

Apart from that segment, the majority of the show was fairly decent. The Rich Swann/Sami Callihan saga finally had something new happen, Johnny Impact came across as an oblivious champion, and we had that aforementioned match between The Lucha Bros and The Rascalz. Let's get to it...
