5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dark (Jun 9)

1. Sonny Kiss Vs. Christopher Daniels

This was earnestly very, very good for the time given (just over eight minutes), with the only real complaint being that Kiss would have benefitted more from winning that Daniels. Sonny didn't need to go over, per se, though overcoming the veteran would have been a nice step forward for him.

Either way, Kiss was enhanced in defeat. Both men worked hard and Daniels did his bit to ensure Sonny's work was sufficiently showcased. Kiss is a fast, explosive athlete with a bunch of cool-looking moves in his arsenal and solid fundamentals, though there's no telling how he'll come across in longer matches right now.

Whatever the case, 'The Concrete Rose' is just fun to watch. He should be given a shot on Dynamite once the crowds return to see if he can get over. If bouts like this are any evidence, he'll have no trouble whatsoever.
