5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (May 12)

3. Havoc & Luther Play To Their Strengths

A pleasant surprise, this, as the feud bringing Luther and Jimy Havoc together pre-health crisis was nothing to write home about.

Reprising their rivalry on Dark, Havoc and Luther played the No DQ gimmick well. Their backgrounds are in hardcore and deathmatch wrestling and it showed. Nothing overstepped the mark as the brawlers battered each other inside and out, bringing steel chairs into play to tick the plunder box, with Havoc benefitted from constant Kip Sabian/Penelope Ford interference. Overshooting a top rope 'rana that missed the intended chairs aside, this was solid.

A Ford distraction led to Sabian launching a steel chair at Luther's head and Havoc hitting his Fish Hook DDT for the win. 'The Japanese Deathmatch Legend' Dr. 'The Original Death Dealer' Luther fell, but fought well.
