2. Glad The Titles Changed, But…

...you know where this moan is headed.

Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga beat Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy to win the tag titles. Anyone who reads these pieces regularly will know how much that’ll please this guy, but the match was fairly nondescript from start to finish. The Wyatt Sicks getting a stranglehold on SmackDown’s tag ranks last year wrecked it, and it’ll take more than one match to sort everything. That's just the truth.

The Sicks vs. MFTs rivalry has had some brief highlights here or there, but hopefully it’s over. There are far too many talented teams sitting around doing nothing whilst this is going on. Honestly, no clue what to do with any of the members involved afterwards, but this Sicks stuff has to stop. It's been a painful exercise once the initial heartfelt sentiment (due to the fact it's a tribute to Bray Wyatt) faded.

Paying respects to a fallen favourite is one thing. Destroying an entire division and stinking up the place in some of the most boring title matches ever is another. Fingers crossed we can draw a line under all of this without getting to the seemingly inevitable Solo vs. Uncle Howdy match; it's actually a slight shocker that WWE didn't plonk that on the lineup for Saturday Night's Main Event this time.

Yep, it's a positive that the tag titles are off Lumis and Gacy, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Nobody is out of the woods yet. At least not until someone breaks into WWE creative meetings and tears 'Wyatt Sicks vs. MFTs rematch' off the script printouts.
