5 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dark (May 26)

Ups...

5. Taz's Clarification

Path of Cage Brian Cage
AEW

Dark opened with a short, simple promo from Taz, who told Excalibur that he wasn't willing to go into the specifics of his relationship with Brian Cage after Double Or Nothing, where 'The Machine' debuted to great effect in the Casino Ladder Match.

A smart move here. Cage arriving as Taz's charge led to questions of how the ex-ECW man would balance his neutral commentary persona and his heel manager's role, so they'd have looked stupid not to address this here. Coupled with Taz leaning closer to heel than ever before behind the booth, this was neat and deft, though we'll need something more assertive as time goes on.
