5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (May 4)

1. Joe Is Gonna Kill You

The main event of the evening saw NXT Champion Samoa Joe take on Eric Young in a non-title match, and even though Young's debut at the beginning of the show fell flat, his performance in the match was great.

Joe was as dominant as ever, but the tenacious Young fought back with plenty of hard right hands. Joe turned the tide when he flung Young out of the ring and hit him with a tope, then kept the fight up on the inside. Even though Young was able to come back and nail Joe with a huge elbow drop, the NXT Champion kicked out, hit an STO out of the corner, and followed up with a Muscle Buster and the Coquina Clutch to win.

Just winning wasn't enough, though. Joe kept the hold locked on Young long after the newcomer had tapped out, eventually choking Young unconscious. Joe only released the hold when the referee threatened a disqualification, and his point was made clear - nobody in NXT can stand up to Samoa Joe.
